For the past few weeks the students have explored few ancient civilizations and learned about the different features of the civilizations and their achievements . They recognized that the contributions of these civilizations have improved our lives and our societies in a better way. Each student had to choose few big ideas of the past that have made a remarkable change in our lives.

Assembly on Mother Teresa

Assembly on Mother Teresa- 27^th August’13

The assembly was initiated by Albane Sion. Sagarika Menon read the news.

Utshaa read a special prayer of Mother Teresa.

The Power point presentation was brought by Rudranjali Patel on life of Mother Teresa and presented by Prinal, Manav , Rishi and Khushi.

Vedanshi , Sia and Manya shared an incident from the life of Mother Teresa.

The concluding video on the life and work of Mother Teresa touched the hearts of the audience.

 Thought for the day was read by Vidya -‘Let us always meet each other with a smile. For the smile is the beginning of love.’

Visit to Archaeological Department,MSU

On 22^nd August 2013, the students of Grade 5 as a part of their learning process visited the Archaeological Department, MSU and discussed with the Curator Dr. Ambika Patel, to find out how excavations are undertaken and why. Dr. Patel gave them a lot of information about how different instruments are used to find out where they all need to go ahead for the excavations. Students asked lot of questions related to the excavations and how the different civilizations were settled in the past

Trip To the Baroda Museum

The students as a part of their learning process for Civilizations,  visited the Baroda Museum to find out more about the different ancient river valley civilizations. They were excited to see the mummy , the construction process of pyramid, cuneiform tablets and the different seals and artifacts of the various civilizations.

In few weeks students from the time we started the Unit-Civilization, students explored about few ancient civilisations. Students found lot of interesting facts about the civilisation they choose.

Students again choose a different civilisation and gathered all information to present as their Formative Assessment-1 in their own way.
